Thank you Senators McCain, Murkowski and Collins! McCain explained that what the Democrats did in passing Obamacare was wrong, so Republicans have to do what is "right" and be bipartisan. Excuse me, John, but how do we take a bipartisan approach when one side unanimously says "single-payer system" and the other side can't seem to make up its mind on much of anything? It's like the 50 states trying to negotiate with the Japanese for peace on December 8, 1941. Incidentally, a 2015 report below from the Cato Institute estimates the accrued and unfunded Medicare liablity at $48 TRILLION so the Feds taking over all healthcare will undoubtedly prove to be cost effective and provide excellent care. Thanks again.

Make Mine a Double
A Texas coffee company is voluntarily recalling its coffee that the FDA has found contains a Viagara-like chemical. Company officials say it was a very popular blend nationally. Imagine.
Probably a good idea to sell it on-line - visiting a coffee shop could be a little awkward.

And I Thought Flickers Were a Problem
We've been fighting a prolonged battle with a particularly obnoxious flicker who loves to pound on the metal cap to our chimney as a mating call to all the chicks in the neighborhood. Absolutely not a problem when compared to this guy who says he is fighting "vicious monkeys" in his backyard in Florida! Yup, monkeys who are feeding at his deer feeder and have ripped off 250 lbs. of feed in the last few days. Just a thought here bucky - you might consider not restocking the deer feeder until the pests go away.

Smoke Gets in Your Eyes
The Left would have you believe that President Trump and what he represents is so historically unique that their vitriol and violence are warranted. Let's take a stroll down memory lane with Larry Elder at Townhall and see ...
"About Ronald Reagan, Coretta Scott King said, "I am scared that if Ronald Reagan gets into office, we are going to see more of the Ku Klux Klan and a resurgence of the Nazi Party."
Rep. William Clay, D-Mo., said Reagan was "trying to replace the Bill of Rights with fascist precepts lifted verbatim from Mein Kampf."
Esquire magazine writer Harry Stein compared Reagan voters to the "good Germans" in "Hitler's Germany."
Justin Kaplan, the editor of "Bartlett's Familiar Quotations," said about Reagan (who was re-elected, 49 states to one), "I'm not going to disguise the fact that I despise Ronald Reagan."
About President George Herbert Walker Bush, Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., said, "I would like to ... say ... very clearly that I believe George (H.W.) Bush is a racist."
Billionaire Democratic contributor George Soros, in November 2003, said: "When I hear Bush say, 'You're either with us or against us,' it reminds me of the Germans. My experiences under Nazi and Soviet rule have sensitized me."
Al Gore, in October of 2005, said, to "control and intimidate" the news media, 'every day (President George W. Bush's executive branch) unleash squadrons of digital brownshirts to harass and hector any journalist who is critical of the President.' "

Well, well, well - same old, same old. Some things never change so know who you are dealing with. President Trump may have his flaws but It could be St. Francis in the White House and if he was Republican, he'd be a Nazi and a racist.

The 2016 Election Explained
The quote below is from a column by Charles Cooke about why he, an Englishman, became a U.S. citizen, but it is as good an explanation for the 2016 election of President Trump as I have seen anywhere, if a tad heavy on political theory:
Read the founding documents and you will see free men declaring in no uncertain terms that they are free men, and affirming too that they must be neither treated as subjects nor expected to submit to the caprice of the powerful or to the zeitgeist as the condition of entering into the social compact.
Translation: Don't tread on me!

A Love Letter to America
This letter is written by a Swedish woman who fell in love with the U.S. at an early age. It is well worth reading this July 4th to remind us of who we are as Americans and the hope to the world we have been - and still are.

A Point of Light
Here' s a nice story about a guy in Charlotte who, after several trips to prison, decided to be the change in his community. Shaun "Lucky" Corbett was a drug dealer to put food on his family's table. After several too lengthy visits to the state pen he decided he needed to change and in doing so has begun to change his community in police/race relations. His son is now a police cadet. Take a look at the short video. We could use a million or two guys like Shaun.

Rising Star
Nikki Haley, the former governor of South Carolina, is doing a standout job as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. Although the UN is pretty much a worthless organization to begin with, dominated by authoritarian governments whose only interest is using it as a platform to club Israel and this country, Haley has clearly shown the flag for U.S. interests in a way not seen since John Bolton and Jeanne Kirkpatrick and it is refreshing.
The article below in National Review suggests that Rex Tillerson is floundering as Secretary of State and that a replacement may be close by at the UN. The U.S. could do much worse than having a bright, articulate and fearless woman at the helm of Foggy Bottom to clear some of the fog out of the minds of the careers bureaucrats residing there.
