Doing the Siskel and Ebert Thing

A couple of good movies to recommend. First, October Baby, which is playing in Salem at the Regal Santiam Cinema. Based on a true story, a young woman experiences medical problems and learns that they arise from her natural mother's attempt to abort her. Although confused and hurt, she looks into her past and comes out stronger for having done so.

In the Netflix queue, you might try Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris. While Mr. Allen is not a paragon of virtue, this is a smart and fun film with beautifully shot backdrops of Paris. Owen Wilson and Rachel McAdams star.
