I hope your Christmas was a merry one. Now on to the New Year, so let's talk about health insurance again, as the President suggested: Obamacare is dead. Yes, the death throes will go on for quite a while but we need to vigorously begin planning for what next.
This WSJ article has a number of foundational ideas about what ideas should come next. The key ideas are individual catastrophic health insurance coverage and getting the new Amazons, Apples, Googles, and WalMarts into the health care area to deliver both low-priced routine health care and affordable catastrophic insurance coverage. This is a golden opportunity to really overhaul this area if government will just get the barricades (e.g. - itself) out of the way and let people freely interact in the health marketplace to choose how they want to safeguard their healthcare and that of their family.
